Brief description : The objective of the course is to introduce students (theoretical aspects and applications) to the simulation of structures by the finite element method. We will present the finite element method, for the linear analysis of structures, in statics and free vibrations. Structures made of rods, beams, plates/shells and 3D solids are studied. The quality of finite element models, for the treatment of industrial problems. ANSYS finite element software is used for practical classes and for the Homework project.

Recommended level :S6

Required prerequisites: Knowledge of continuum mechanics and theory of elasticity.
